LiveNletLive – I didn’t say it’s become a place where someone can’t speak his mind or say what he thinks. I said it’s become a place where someone can’t speak his mind or say what he thinks “without a whole sinister bunch ganging up against him and shutting him up with a sharp reprimand about how he should not think/talk/theorize/make unchristian-like judgments about other people et al.” Major difference. If my little post is broken up into little sentences like that I guess we’d be able to come up with a million different interpretations.

Thanx to Ben and Maimawm… I too have felt that I have spilt out more than necessary. Just think it as a “spill over” from a misual out of concern… hehe.

However, Maimawm, I still don’t under the logic behind your line “it’s become a place where someone can’t speak his mind or say what he thinks…” Is there someone who prohibits free expression over here… no no no. I hope the admin/moderator allows to bombard all sorts of “nasty” comments as long as they are not of “blasphemy”… right Ben?

LiveNletLive – I don’t know which part of the post made you think that anyone is unwelcome, which part if offensive and which part makes you bring up the word ‘exclusivity’ or maintaining it. All I said, in a nutshell, was that it’s getting boring. If you read deeper meanings beyond that, then that’s also beyond my comprehension. However, I do apologise on behalf of myself and the other commentators if we were tactless in our discussion.

Anyway, belh leh hram –

Not at all. If you look at the traditional community forum, you would see for each user displays such as:

* Member/Registered since:
* numbers of posts
* moderator/admin/super admin tag.

Here, you would see none of those because

1) Default install of our CMS software does not do it
2) We do not see the need to do it

I even changed my display name to my own name instead admin a long time ago in 2005 because I wish to be out here in the discussion just like anybody.

A close/small knit group could be enjoying but the downside is very often discussions are hijacked into off topic chat and pulling each other’s leg.

Also, we need to understand number of comment does not exactly translate to how hot a topic is. If a topic is X and there are 25 comment about user A and B pulling each others leg, would you say the topic is hot? I don’t think so.
