ULFA faction wants oil company to leave Assam.
Guwahati: The Paresh Barua-led faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) on Friday served a “quit notice” on Shiv-Vani, an upstream oil exploration service provider, asking it to quit Assam within one-and-half months.
It alleged that the company was exploiting Assam’s natural resources against the interests of the local people. It also warned of launching an “armed resistance” if the company did not leave the State within the stipulated period.
The ULFA faction’s self-styled lieutenant Arunodoi Dohotia also warned, in a statement issued to media houses, that any bid by the company to carry on with its activities with the support of security forces would “certainly have its impact on its employees.”

The decision to deploy the Su-30s, the most potent fighter in the IAF inventory, follows repeated instances of Chinese incursions in Arunachal Pradesh in the last few years.
