Problem 2:
Often people have problem installing Linux on their PC. Just the opposite happened to me. I am selling my old PC (2.15 GHz CPU and 512 RAM) for peanuts since I have plans to purchase something
a lot better.

After backup, I started my plans to wipe out the hard disk and thought I would install Windows for the new would be owner. Damn, it wouldn’t install. At some point during setup, the screen would just go blank.

I have never tried Windows on this PC. I have happily and successfully run Linux on this PC for two years. Damn! Windows!

Problem 1:
I recently sold my motorcycle (CBZ Xtreme, 2008 Feb). The new owner called me about an hour ago.

When I received it from the dealer (Prakash, Subhaia Circle), I never knew the number on the registration plate doesn’t match what’s in the papers until cops seized it this midnight. The motorcycle has been running with the wrong number till now!!

A major blunder/error by the dealer.

Fortunately or unfortunately, till the new owner took it a month ago, I never had a problem. Also, after the new owner took it, this is the second time my dear old bike visits the police station! The first time, it was due to parking on the road side in a residential area where everybody does it. A tow truck happens to come and they took it. The drama didn’t finish here, the new owner was seen chasing the tow truck with just shorts and no shirt! Out in the street!!

Even before the start of the day, I am already faced with three problems. Hope the remaining moments are better.

My last name is uncommon and unique, I have always thought. All these years, I have not come across anyone else with the same name till I read this news.

When you told me that you like her more than I, I was shocked. I could not think of anything she could have done to win over your heart. Because I know myself how much I tried. And then I realized I cannot win in this game.

Maybe I was selfish.

At dawn, I thought about it clearly. I could think because I was not crying anymore. Maybe I was selfish. I was not letting you go to the person whom you loved. I was the obstacle right there, blocking your way. If I cannot have the person I love, then at least the person whom I love should have the one he loves. Right?

I wanted to let you go.

I love you only for 7 months and you have loved her for more than a year. Maybe I should sacrifice so I wanted to let you go to her. This could be the best way to solve our problem yet it will take a year to forget our lingering memories. I prayed. I did not get the answer.

But we were happy.

I found myself having a lovely time with you over the weekend. One will not believe us that we have such a big problem. I realized if we try, we can still make a better relationship. Currently pursuing a master degree, days are hectic for her. Assignments and projects filled schedules or else, she goes out with her cousins on weekends.

They say you canâ€t ask her out! So coward like me writes and sends cakes with great expectation.

Am sure she would make a fine woman one day.

She was said to be working on an secret project since last year — a play or may be a book. When do we get to see? And Why isnâ€t she on stage these days?

Is this a general occurance in Mizo services? I do not recall having ever heard of this in any other non-mizo service, or even in mizo services in Delhi, Bombay or Calcutta.

A decade or more ago, there were only a few LPG(the gas used for cooking in India) agents in Aizawl. There were so few of them that instead of referring them by their agent name (except for Mizofed), we called them by their locality name because they were the only ones in their locality. They were

* Biakkungi (Chanmari)
* Suakchhunga (Zarkawt)
* Mizofed (Tuikual)
* Damnit! What’s that LPG agency in Thakthing called? It’s a female’s name.

Home delivery was just something you heard of from the Consumers Union, demanding the service from the agents. Everywhere there were long queues. Sometimes, you go back home with empty cylinder. I even bunked school one day to line up at Mizofed. It wasn’t my idea though. I was asked.

The system was like (IIRC)

1) You could go to the agency with your consumer card after 30 days of last filling and do something called “report/booking”. The date you do this is marked in your consumer card.

2) Later, when the LPG agent start delivery from the date you had booked, you could go to their center with your empty cylinder to refill if it was available.

3) Sometime if you have empty cylinder, you could refill the same date as you book. That was called “up to date”

oh! Those were the days! Too bad. Some of you such sphinx clan are too young(babies?) to remember this
