Two weeks in Bangalore

I’ve got my stuffs but not my space yet in Bangalore. Still busy undergoing induction, training in business communication, presentation, conference call etc. I’ll be in the city till this Friday, after that I’ll go back to the campus in Electronic City.
Kind of boring but it’s a process a new joinee has to go through. They don’t want to assume you know. A big and establised organization like my new company don’t want to assume you know. They want to be sure you have all the skills you would need.
The night I moved to the Guest House, it was terrible, a repeat of my first night in hostel in 1998 for 11th std. I terribly missed my house in Chennai where I had everything I needed - Living Room, Bedroom, kitchen, Internet, music soy milk etc. Having to suddenly live within the confines of the four walls of my room in the Guest House made me real sad. It even made me think of the weakness of my spiritual life. There’s Jesus, a friend who would always be there wherever and whenever, I knew. But I still didn’t have the peace and comfort. I had to admit, my spiritual life is weak, unlike Bro Sandman, now blogging with Christ.
I then went on to think that this is the little pain I had to through on the road to better life. I came here to pursue an excellent opportunity in an excellent organization. And all the diffucult times I had during my five years in deeper TN, myself the only Mizo in school and college.
After this lonely night, I became just fine. But moving to a different location is no joke. I got several tasks in the waiting. The biggest being house hunt which I will start in a week from now. Until I find a good one, will be staying with Mr Silent_Man. I had unloaded my household goods at his place last Sat.
Officially now in Bangalore
From today onwards, I don’t use my Chennai number anymore. Hutch finally activated my new number after several calls to the rep who gave me the connection.
Exploring Bangalore
Traffic is heavy, as expected. Most of the fly overs that were in construction two years ago are now completed. I didn’t expect this.
When you come from a big city like Chennai, Bangalore is a small town 
I wouldn’t say I had fully explored Chennai but I knew just about any place Xorrin asked. If I don’t know, there’s the consultant Chhanga. If Chhanga doesn’t know, it’s not important to me or any other Mizo.
Coming to Bangalore, everyone would know Majestic and Brigade Road. Koramangala’s the first locality I got familiar with during the first visit to Bangalore. Also in the past, I had been to Frazer Town, Wesley Church, Cox Town, Indra Nagar, Sarjapur Road, Hanumanth Nagar, Richmond Circle, Bannerghatta road and prolly Madivala.
The past two weeks, I got to know places such as BTM layout, JP Nagar, EC (Hosur Road), Silk Board which is on the way to EC, Infantry Road, Alsoor lake and the tank at a junction on the way to ammi’s house Have had lunch at Hotel Empire (Infantry road branch) the Brigade branch being a popular hangout at night, I learned. During the weekend, Mr 3x took me to taika and I already know where to get essentials at night Unlike Chennai, a lot of things are easier.
Oh wait, how could I forget Shangrila. A visit to Bangalore is incomplete without pork and drought beer at Shangrila.
The other day, I was off to Narayana Nethralaya eye hospital near Iskon Temple at Rajaji Nagar. Rajaji Nagar is a fine locality though it’s far off. On the way, I went past Vasanth Nagar and Mt Carmel College. Whenever I go to a new place, I always look out for landmarks. Institutions are great landmarks. Sri Venkateswara College (Sri Venky College) in Delhi saved my day when I got lost on my first ever visit to the Capital, walking on foot at 4 AM from Gurgaon to Satya Niketan in New Delhi , which is itself an entirely different story.
Bangalore Mizo Service
Bangalore Mizo Service at Wesley Church has good crowd, roughly 200 people. The Church as Goldmember once said in izawl.com is hot! For people like me who spent several years in hostel, places like Tamil Nadu, Bangalore Mizo Church’s just like Aizawl. If you were blindfolded and taken inside Wesley Church and made to sit in the front, you wouldn’t have the idea your not in Mizoram for a while.
Before I get myself too interested and boring to hear, I would call it enough for now. I am so so sick of having to go to Internet Cafe.
Thats my two weeks in Bangalore. Unlike Sandman who has execellent public relation skills, I haven’t make made much friends. There were also events which I willingly deleted from my memory before writing this, to be retrieved later for personal consumption.
For your kind information, Goldmember’s address in Bangalore is Brigade Road. I bet you will find not only him but the Goldmembers hahaha
The city’s on alert because of Cauvery dispute verdict announcement today. I am still smiling since it got me half a day off. Watch out and stay safe.

As a result of the Cauvery issue, Siticable has cut off cable services in many parts of Bangalore. Those who have Hathway conection is not affected. Until the bandh is over, Siticable will not resume transmission.Is there something called law in India?

keipoh kar hmasa chu chennai ah blore chhuahsan in ka va zin ve a, its a journey to remember,,,, very smelly, we put up in the hotel and their water was damn salty… OMG what brought me there….. Marina beach..ooo vaidum hlir and by the way.. some ektum hehe.. but i like those fish sold on the beach though….. i might not go again to chennai… ma sweeeeeet blore ur the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeest….
