To be released on 1st April, 2008, a 2-CD compilation of songs from 1991 to 2005, divided into “The Dark Side” and “The Light Side”. It also has a remix of 3 of their classic songs: Pull Me Under, Take The Time and Another Day.
Why the name “Greatest Hit…” and not Hits (with an S)?
Well, despite their fame and huge fan following, they had only one Radio hit “Pull Me Under”, which somehow managed to get good radio airplay without any promotion. A music video for the song was made as a result, which also saw a heavy rotation on MTV.
I remember they already had a small, but faithful, fan base even back in Aizawl a year after they released “Images & Words”… people like me for instance. 
They had earlier made a video for the song “Another Day” but it failed to get much commercial success. They made another video for “Lie” from their next album AWAKE… not much success either. They have never made a music video again… Great Success!
I’m eager to hear the remixes, but to me those songs had the true Dream Theater sound. I hope they don’t go overboard. One of my favorite “To Live Forever” also made it to the compilation even though it had never been released in an album before.

They remixed 3 songs-Pull Me Under, Take The Time and Another Day. But not that kind of techno ‘remix’… the same material has just been remixed. You can expect a tighter sound, the kick drum in particular.

Since i have all their records (inclucing bootleg cd, their demo during their Majesty[b4 they were called DT] days).. i dnt really see any point in buying them tho am a big fan. Blank cd lei a hemi compilation chiah2 collection siam nen a in ang reng.. bakah ka hla duh a kim tlat lo. And i dnt really believe in remixing/re-recording/re-editing n stuff.. i prefer staying ORIGINAL.

Stop piracy/downloads…. support the musicians/artists.. buy a record.
btw there’s a rumour circulating all over the place that DT are coming to India joining megadeth and machine head cancelling their south african tour which i believe is not going to happen as the official site has no word about it. But DT is coming to india in the near future and thats for sure as Petrucci and Portnoy said their next destination wud surely be Australia and India.

There was talk about a possible Indian gig in their current Asian gig (or was it last month). But the organizers needed to raise about 80 lakhs. Some guys in Shillong had raised abt half that amount, but couldn’t come up with the rest… or so I was told.

the Asian tour was last month.. few of my vai frens flew to singapore n watched the show,i was back home then, not knowing those fu***rs were going for the show… damnn.. didnt made it. that was the closest i’v ever been to seeing DT
.
If im not mistaken they’re currently touring south america. n regarding the shillong guy thing blah blah… dnt really believe it.
