How come none did this long before? The idea seems simple. Order photo prints online, get it delivered is the idea. The answer is PicSquare, hardly a year old Bangalore based startup founded by IIT-B graduates Manish and Karthik during the late 2005. Along the likes of Sillicon Valley startups, it began from their living room.
The portal offer unlimited photo upload and sharing. According to Business World over 170,000 photos have been uploaded of which 70% were printed. The initial idea to to target NRI’s who wish to send photos to friends and families in India.
They got 1,000 customers in their first three months which got them their first funding under TiE’s Entrepreneurship Acceleration Programme.
The cost of printing for 4 x 6″ photo is Rs 3.00 and it costs Rs. 36.00 for shipping upto 50 photos.
Will it work for us?
I don’t know. DTDC courier company is their partner, probably for delivery. If DTDC can deliver to Aizawl, looks like it should. Anybody knows that?
