Just my luck as i popped in at Zozam Audio Visual Inc. today to hear them mastering Mami Varte’s debut album! Matter of fact, it’s pretty good, eh? Mami’s mom was there as they doing the final touches to the songs. From what i heard, it was supposed to be released on the 20th but due to some time consuming duplication or something like that, they had to postpone it to next month. A few minutes passed and Blue Corn girls came in (they came home from Guwahati yesterday).
They stood there for a few solid minutes listening to the songs and i agree to what they said “Mami has improved in her vocals a lot!” The album is to be released as a VCD, Audio CD and tapes as well (first of it’s kind for Aizawl, i think). The songs on her albums are the works of Mapuii Fanai and her husband, John Mawitea (of Valmawi, A riang chan tawk, etc etc fame). Watch out for the new album and as you wait, i’m a step ahead of you guys having heard the songs!
