Mumbai : 21/6/2011 : Mizo Human Trafficking Busted in Mumbai: In a 2 nights consecutive, daring, precise plan, coordinated commitments of Mumbai and Mizoram Police. A widespread network of Trafficking of Girls from Mizoram to Mumbai on the allurement of better prospects was busted in a joint concerted, daring and precisely planned and executed operations by Mizoram Police and Mumbai Police, SS Branch after midnight.
Mizoram Police Team headed, supervised and coordinated by Joseph Lalchhuana, Senior SP of CID Crime comprising of
1) Mr. Rinpuia Varte, Dy.SP now SDPO Vairengte, Case I.O and in Whose jurisdiction the case under Immoral Traffic Act, 1956 was registered.
2)Ms Melody Lalmuanpui SI, Aizawl PS
3) Rebecca Hmingsangzuali; who reached Mumbai at different dates and locations with the capable assistance of Mumbai Police arrested the Mizo Lady ( Trafficker ) and her concubine Sumit Thapa of Nepal. The area of Operations was Juhu Beach and Santa Cruz.
The team as requested were provided all support of Logistics and Man power from Mumbai and Thane Police. We are indeed grateful and indebted to them.
Arrested Accused persons : 1) Tedingi @ Rosy (27 ) and 2) Sumit Thapa (25) Nepalee her kept husband.
Rescued Girls : 1) Jenny ( 23 ) already sheltered and with the team and 2) Lorraine ( 21)
NB : Names are brothel names, real identity not disclosed for security and confidentiality.
Legal proceedings for the custody of the arrested persons is being under taken at Mumbai concerned court, and their production at Mizoram court is also being moved. It is expected to bring back the arrested persons and the rescued persons to Mizoram shortly.
