Laurels for Mizo engineer

A mining engineer Sawmliana from Mizoram became the first engineer Mizoram to receive a Ph.D from the Indian School of Mines (ISM) University .

Sawmliana is at present working with the Central Mining Research Institute (CMRI), Dhanbad in the blasting department, designated as scientist ‘C’. He is now settled in Dhanbad with his wife and three children and wants to continue working in the field of blast design at CMRI.

I could never understand why people still stick to Yahoo, Hotmail or Rediffmail. Yes, I am biased. Like when I fall for a girl, I completely forget the existence of the rest of the women species on the planet. Hehe! Before you pull my leg, I take back my words. But it’s partly true ;-)

With an unbeatable choice (GMail ) in mind, I read this comparison between GMail, Yahoo! Mail Beta and Windows Live Mail. As I read line after line, I kept saying to myself “Hmmm the new Yahoo! Mail which was dead slow now looks cool”, not quite willing to believe what I read.

Mobile Phones: What a menace

When my younger brother dropped out of NIFT-Delhi, he was like, “fashion designing is for sissies. I hate NIFT!” :P. Now after three years in Delhi’s College of Fine Arts, he’s managed to create his own portfolio, sharing some of his work.
Tools used: Chelpark ink and a fountain pen.

I guess Spikey and Father will be the best judge. Spikey, we talk a lot about your work :)

The title for the first one is “Mobile Phones: What a menace”

Zoramthanga’s armed campaigners?

Former underground leaders confessed to campaigning for CM Zoramthanga during 2003 assembly election.

ZRO vice president Hang Sian Thang told me that they came from Lamka, Manipur, to campaign for chief minister Zoramthanga, and asked for our help. We were promised 40 number of guns, apart from political support in return,” Zo Thawn recollected. He added that chief minister Zoramthanga gave him Rs 2 lakhs for the campaign expenditure.
