How often have you heard ‘Maths Religion’? I believe never. Well, I tell you ‘Maths’ is a religion. Still don’t believe me, then lets look at the definition of ’religion’. According to dictionary.reference.com religion is defined as “A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects”.
Similarly, in maths the equations are like miracles, for instance you take two numbers like 2 and 2 and then you add them up and they magically became one new number .i.e 4. No one can say how it happens, you just have to accept it on faith. Either you believe it or you don’t. You have to accept the whole concept of maths on faith thereby making it a religion . So, personally as a maths atheist maths should be excluded from the school text. lol
