I just called a friend who lives close to their veng and she said there’s no news about her demise yet. And by the way, it’s not actually a brain tumour but an aneurysm.

That’s what some local papers simplified her illness into initially because it was sth that could be understood by the lay person but it’s actually it’s a cerebral aneurysm.
Meanwhile please also pray for her husband Pu Dina who is a heart patient himself.

Lets hope she comes out fine. Definitely, she is one of our most treasured one.

A cerebral aneurysm is the dilation, bulging, or ballooning out of part of the wall of a vein or artery in the brain. Cerebral aneurysms can occur at any age, although they are more common in adults than in children and are slightly more common in women than in men.
The signs and symptoms of an unruptured cerebral aneurysm will partly depend on its size and rate of growth. For example, a small, unchanging aneurysm will generally produce no symptoms, whereas a larger aneurysm that is steadily growing may produce symptoms such as loss of feeling in the face or problems with the eyes. Immediately before an aneurysm ruptures, an individual may experience such symptoms as a sudden and unusually severe headache, nausea, vision impairment, vomiting, and loss of consciousness.
Is there any treatment?
Emergency treatment for individuals with a ruptured cerebral aneurysm generally includes restoring deteriorating respiration and reducing intracranial pressure. Surgery is usually performed within the first 3 days to clip the ruptured aneurysm and to reduce the risk of rebleeding. When aneurysms are discovered before rupture occurs, microcoil thrombosis or balloon embolization may be performed on patients for whom surgery is considered too risky.

Last I heard she’s still hooked to an oxygen tank and hovering between life and death.

Cerebral aneurysm is very common Cerebrovascular disorder in Old age, especially in people with underlying hypertension, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, vasacular disorders, people with heart diseases, stress disorders, obesity etc.
I really believe that we are begining to loose many patients because of cerebrovascular diseases.Mizoram should start thinking about setting up a Neurosurgery unit in the Civil Hospital to cater such acute emergencies as they are going to be more common in the coming years with our changing lifestyle method. For this we may need a Super specialised surgeon for the same, lets hope for the best anyways .
