Saddam’s execution

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Its 6 am here in Mizoram (inrinni zing bazaar ngaih vang a tho hma) and I was just watching the news and there’s this breaking news: Saddam’s exectution likely to take place in 2 hours time from now! Thought I’ll just put it up here since most of you might be still sleeping while he’s executed.

As we all know, nobody, not even his family and lawyers are told about his exact execution date and time due to the sensitivity of the nature among the Iraqis.

More update will come up later during the hour.

Ranting Canon in D on a cello

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

A comedian rants about how much it sucks to play Pachelbel’s Canon in D on a cello.

When I find myself in times of trouble, Pachelbel’s always following me
I’ll see you in Hell,Pachelbel
Oh Pachelbel, Oh Pachelbel, I’ll see your ass in Hell
I’ll see you in Hell,Pachelbel

Come over for tea party

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

If you are in Aizawl , please come over for tea party to my house (picture below) at Durtlang on 2nd Jan at 1 PM . Sandman’s there and father (father_sphinx not my father :-) ) is bringing the sphinx clan. Please email me (benjaminrtz[at]gmail[dot]com) or call 2362079 ( from 31st night onwards) to confirm your participation. Even if you don’t email or call, you are still welcome. If you don’t have transport, we might be able to arrange one from Bawngkawn (pick and drop). I will check with folks at home and I might be able to keep you for dinner.

Christmas | Then and Now

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

So another Christmas has rolled on by. We may not yet be packing up the decorations ..the mistletoe that we hopefully hung under the door (but the only women that stood under it were your 60 year old aunties.. ).. the plastic xmas trees etc… but essentially the main part of Xmas is over.. (time files by!)

Im sure we’d have had a lot of fun over the last week leading up to Xmas day. Most of us on misual.com are i think in the 15 to 35 years age group.. and the way we celebrated Xmas must have been pretty much along the same lines more or less..

Mizo police misbehaved with the Tribal women

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

A week ago or earlier Vanglaini reported that a Mizo police from the IR battalion deployed in Chhattisgarh was hit and injured in a land mine blast. I went searching for the archive but vanglaini.org just doesn’t have an easy way to find it.

Now here comes the second news about our Mizo police deployed there to fight the naxalites. And this is an ugly one. Two blogs report the following

Everyday innocent Tribals as young as 12 years are falling victim to the atrocities of Naga,Mizo and other forces patrolling the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. Yesterday in Village Chitoor near Sukma in Bastar region soldiers from the Mizo forces misbehaved with the Tribal women and there is huge protest against the Army.

The news is sketchy and I personally don’t find it very “reliable”. However, whatever grain of truth the news has, I find it unfortunate.
