Its 6 am here in Mizoram (inrinni zing bazaar ngaih vang a tho hma) and I was just watching the news and there’s this breaking news: Saddam’s exectution likely to take place in 2 hours time from now! Thought I’ll just put it up here since most of you might be still sleeping while he’s executed.
As we all know, nobody, not even his family and lawyers are told about his exact execution date and time due to the sensitivity of the nature among the Iraqis.
More update will come up later during the hour.

i agreed with “maimawm” the founding father of US are religious person…..
a substantial of them are protestant who migrate to US due to their religious belief….and a number of jews bussiness man/artisans also migrate from spain and other european countries to escape persecution from catholic ruler of that time, and this entrepreneurs are the one who laid the foundation of US economy………
but the present US society may not have that much god fearing which their parent used to have….even there is a lot of criticism in their so called “corporate preacher”……….but what i found disgusting is the treatment meted out to previous ruler of a country… tomorrow saudi king can face the same thing, iran ruler also can face the same thing………

There is no better example of US double standards than the fates of Augusto Pinochet of Chile and Saddam Hussein of Iraq. Pinochet was responsible for the killings and disappearances of many more people than Saddam. But not once did the US say or do anything about it because Pinochet – to use the colourful phrase of a former US President with reference to another US-backed dictator – ‘may be a son of a bitch but he is our son of a bitch’.
That Saddam Hussein was a cruel dictator is not denied. But it may be noted that Saddam invaded Iran in 1980 at the instigation of the US in order to disrupt the Khomeini revolution.
He did kill many secessionist Kurds but it was aimed at maintaining the territorial integrity of Iraq – in much the same manner as the Indian State ‘kills’ separatist Kashmiri and Naga militants or Lincoln ‘killed’ the secessionist Confederates during the US Civil War. By this logic, the head of any State can be hanged.
Shouldn’t Bush and Blair, who are responsible for the deaths of 700,000 innocent Iraqi civilians, hang? I promise to become an ardent theist if this happens!
