When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us…
Friday, March 30th, 2007This is a tribute to all those who have fought for a cause and sacrificed their lives so that we could have a better and secured life.
Born to a generation that witnessed and faced the turmoil of the armed movement, my dad too went away to fight for a cause in that turbulent part of the country. He was only following the footsteps of my grandfather who was greatly romanticized by the idea of a homeland for our people. Once upon of time, in the not so remote past we had a land of our own where we ruled ourselves as a sovereign kingdom. We had our kings, queens, and palaces until our freedom had been taken away by imperialist institutions.

American Idol:Vote for the worst!
Friday, March 30th, 2007American Idol en thin kan awm ve nualin ka ring a, Indian Sanjaya hi a tla har ka ti tawh lutuk a, ka duhlo hrim hrim a ni lova mahse an bawl ni zawkin ka hria a. Ka rinna chhan chu vote for the worst vang te pawh hi a ni thei ang em ka ti mai mai a.
Now why do the producers do this? It’s simple: American Idol is not about singing at all, it’s about making good reality TV and enjoying the cheesy, guilty pleasure of watching bad singing. We agree that a fish out of water is entertaining, and we want to acknowledge this fact by encouraging people to make an even funnier show by helping the amusing antagonists stick around. VFTW sees keeping these contestants around as a golden opportunity to make a funnier show.

The internet site Votefortheworst.com has decided to start a campaign to get mass votes for American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar.

Sandman on Christian dress code
Thursday, March 29th, 2007Sandman on his latest blog post asks “As a responsible Mizo adult settling outside Mizoram, are we all doing enough about the dress codes at our Mizo Church services ?“. It’s lengthy as usual and there already are a number of interesting comments, including several from me. He even suggests asking people with improper dress code to leave the Church.
We need to walk up to such people and tell them frankly but politely, face to face, that such dress codes will not be tolerated and that maybe they might be better off not coming to Church at all if they are going to continue dressing up that way… Sometimes it might even be proper to ask such people to leave the Church premises right in the middle of the service infront of everyone… the embarrassment will not only assure them of ever repeating that again but will also make others think twice before putting on that skimpy outfit. Do we have the guts to tell them that? Or are we going to spend the rest of our lives bitching about that particular person “eeee kha nu kha maw? BiakInah a rawn in chei hot thei rapssss†without anyone ever actually telling the person that he/she is out of place?
Btw, there’s a rumour that Sandman will be replacing C.V John as the Director (or whatever) of New Life Ministry

Keeping track of your favorite websites
Thursday, March 29th, 2007How do you keep track of the latest on your favorite websites?
Visit every now and then? That would be what most of you are doing. Well, that is time consuming.
Second option is to subscribe to RSS feeds so that you can have a quick view of the latest headlines on your favorite websites. See those little orange icons labelled XML, RSS, ATOM ? That again does work with everyone since it involves using a feed reader. And I don’t like it.
So what’s the best way?
Soul, Lost On a Highway Of Love
Thursday, March 29th, 2007I know I’m not dreaming. And it’s really happening. Though the days may seem dreary and boring I still have within me a glimmer of hope. A hope that pushes me towards tomorrow. Though uncertain it may be, yet it seems so clear. The shadows that follow me night and day, do they mean to make my life shallow and hollow? Every bit of my thoughts and aspirations is now fading like a dying ember. But it seems so clear, so vivid as if it was standing right before my very eyes. But what is standing before me, I know not.
