At least 600 houses were submerged in the Mizoram- Bangladesh border as the Khawthlangtuipui river breached, sweeping away rice cultivation areas and fish ponds, officials said today.
Floods along the Mizoram-Karimganj district (Assam) border inundated at least 106 houses, with 80 of them completely damaged.
The Tlawng river submerged the Bairabi railway station, the only one in the state.
