The end and the beginning

Monday, April 30th, 2007

This is the end and the beginning of misual.com. Something I have been both too lazy and reluctant to announce. And partly I want it that way. This is the New Beginning I mentioned earlier. It actually happened at least two weeks ago.

At first I wanted to hand over the entire ownership and responsibility. I made the offer to the editors. No soul came forward and no one wanted me to quit. I made up my mind. We tried so hard and reached this far. I will keep walking.

Some of you might have noticed the changes. A few more changes in the coming days. Procrastination always got the better of me. Here I go after much delay.

Misual.com grew real lot bigger than I could ever imagine. Many many “big thank you’s” to all of you. I couldn’t handle the expectation and pressure and hence this new beginning. Also I wanted to get a life. I ended up spending too too much time on misual.com, writing/editing stories.

In his article “Crossing the Chasm to going as a full time blogger“, he writes the tough decision and negative voices he had to face on becoming a full time blogger. Quite an interesting story.

It’s the beginning of a financial year. Looking to start a SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) ? I am quite new and fresh on the subject myself. Whatever you know, do share.

According to a query answered on the latest edition of Outlook Money (April 15 2007), the following are the top performing tax saving mutual funds in the market:

Palm Sunday

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Today at Bangalore Mizo service, kids from Naupang Sunday School had special item. They carried some leaves. Thats how I learned today is “Palm Sunday”.

While they were singing, someone whispered to me from behind “Look at the Sunday School teachers :-)” It was no other than our very own Goldmember sitting beside Miss Goldmember. Yes dude, I want to join Naupang Sunday School hereafter :-)

The preacher was a missionary who had worked in Nepal for some 10 years. Not sure if he is returning to Nepal. I have poor listening skill especially in Church.

Still using Yahoo! Mail?

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

I could never understand why people still stick to Yahoo, Hotmail or Rediffmail. Yes, I am biased. Like when I fall for a girl, I completely forget the existence of the rest of the women species on the planet. Hehe! Before you pull my leg, I take back my words. But it’s partly true ;-)

With an unbeatable choice (GMail ) in mind, I read this comparison between GMail, Yahoo! Mail Beta and Windows Live Mail. As I read line after line, I kept saying to myself “Hmmm the new Yahoo! Mail which was dead slow now looks cool”, not quite willing to believe what I read.

She sang to me

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

I reached home a little early that evening. There was my angel June at the door, looking good and fresh, with her black and shinning hair. For men I can sum that up in one word “Sexy”.

It took no time to figure out she must have showered a few minutes earlier. Ladies, that’s the way to greet your hubby! Having worked hard all day, it felt real good to have someone like June to greet and hug you at the door.

After a quick bath, I find myself filled with great new ideas for our story. Then I heard June calling “Honey, aren’t you helping me out in the kitchen this evening?” (more…)

A different morning

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

It’s been well over a decade now since my first kiss. A lot had happened after that. Such as misual.com, moving to Bangalore, gaining weight and of course a lot more kisses :-) The best thing being not having to wake up alone in the morning since I had finally taken the plunge to get myself married. There’s me, my lovely wife June and our three daughters Ally, Arcy and Jenny.

Gone are the days when I had to wake up alone and make myself tea, breakfast. I used to hate myself so much in the morning that I would often sleep till noon.
