Was wondering, what is meant by the descriptive term Vai? Whats the origin? Meaning? Anything to do with the Sikh festival Vaisakhi? Any ideas?

according to wikipedia, the Vai are a particular nationality/cultural subgroup living in Sierra Leone.Interesting!!no mention of India at all

well all im saying is all forms of discrimination or harassment are wrong sooo wrong. Sure that we all accept that.One wonderful friend of mine is a Mizo who would hate to discriminate against anyone. And i,m just the same.

i agree the term Vai is used to refer to the people in plains namely the Dravidians and the Aryans..like the khasis named them as Dkhars …and i believe We may hav called the Khasis Bak Thak Not Kap Thak…And Ral Leng for the Nagas….correct if im wwrong
