NEW DELHI: Taking a cue from cities like Bangalore and Pune, the Delhi government is planning a Wi-Fi future for the city. The city government’s information technology department is exploring options to ensure Delhiites have wireless net access on laptops. Bangalore is already Wi-Fi enabled, while Pune and Kolkata are on their way to attaining the status.
But Delhi may take a march over other Indian cities as the government is looking at the latest WiMax technology which ensures high-speed internet access on the move

a city top chuan wifi lo top ang.wimax is still too immature for serious deployment. hopefully by second half of next year there will be a standard.
goi is banking on wimax for national connectivity…a single base station can cover a radius of 30 km with 40-60 mbps.
wimax rockz!!

khawlvel hmun dangah pawh wimax chu successful taka deploy ala nilo hrim2.
mahse for all India connectivity wireless is the only solution(where more then 70% of indian household donot have acess to fixed wired telephone service) and if its wireless it has to be wimax. bsnl is planning to install worlds largest wimax deployment worth rs 4-5 billion covering 1000 cities in the first phase.
