Is Blore that scary?

December 21st, 2006 12:36 am by trekkerboy

We heard of advice not to board auto right in front of ATM. We heard of crooks forcibly snatching mobile phones from BPO employee returning late from work, someone beaten black and blue by police at the railway station (the dayafter pay day) to be tricked into withdrawing huge amount of cash from ATM.

All these spread mostly thru forward mails. So you don’t know if they really happened.

Is Bangalore really that scary?

Not really. The victims of the cases mentioned above are people who do not use their common sense.

In that way, Delhi is the most uncouth city – esp. for us ‘chinkies’. Girls (even vai girls) cannot walk alone without some jat, sardar etc. passing a lewd remark or brushing up against them.

In terms of politeness and tolerance for others – nothing to beat the Bangaloreans (Bombay comes close too).

Not dangerous at all if you’re careful. Be sure to follow some basic safety rules:

    - do not carry your credit card everywhere you go
    - ditto for your ATM card
    - don’t carry too much cash, esp at night
    - avoid going out alone at night
    - if you’re a woman, trash eve teasers if there are a lot of people around but just ignore them if the bad guys outnumber the good

one more thing – be aware of your surroundings; who/what are around you. who’s a potential threat, etc.
