How come there was no post, wishing the World Wide Web a happy 15th birthday at misual.com? And that was yesterday?
Imagine,
- No misual.com
- No Instant messaging
- No E-mail
- No blogging
- ??
- ???
What’s your take? Has it made the world a worse place and not better??

Although www had pulled everyone closer, making it easier to connect with each other personally and in terms of Business, I really do miss the days when there was no such thing as internet.
I miss those days when I would write a long love letter to a girl, admitting my love to her, and then I would wait anxiously for her reply, and then one day the post man would drive his cycle next to the hostel office with a letter for me, and with trembling hands I tore open the letter to read her reply.
Now everything is taken over electronically. To me, e-mails and e-greetings feel so… inanimate compared to good old-skool love letters written on letter pads. I miss those days when I would use the most mushy letter pad I could find and I would actualy spray the letter with perfume before sending it. Ofcourse now we have lived past all that, but I really pity the next generation who will never get to do that. Everything is now just a click away.

e-greetings really are inanimate!
Also, I really am bothered about all my letters, read “e-mails” publicly available, which some “company” can access or read anytime they like. So much for privacy!!

I still make a monthly trip to the post office to send MO. I once did online ABN-SBI(aizawl) for a testing, a small amount of 200 bucks. It never got there. I continue to use EMS Speed post since then. For house rent, I order DD online via ICICI netbanking. I hate phone banking, waiting in the q

Jeeez you fake old timers, the post office still exists, you know. In fact I sent a love letter just last month. And boy, it elicited a heck of a happy response.
