Child molester arrested in Aizawl
Aizawl: In what could become the first pedophile case in Mizoram an alleged child rapist and molester MC Lalengliana was apprehended by the locals of Zemabawk on the outskirts of Aizawl.
A country made revolver and four rounds of ammunitions were also seized from him. Four charges including three rape cases and an arms act was framed against him.
This story shocked Aizawl. 44 years old MC Lalengliana, a government servant of Public Health Engineering Department working as an Asst. Chemist was apprehended when he was found trying to lure a minor girl.
Since November last there was a report of a child molester on the northern part of Aizawl, according to Police the alleged has molested at least 10 minors and reportedly raped at least 4 of them.
Those he molested identified him and was arrested by the Bawngkawn police.
“It’s very shocking to hear the news, he was such a shy guy, he didn’t even have guts to aproach a girl, I’ve known him for the past ten years, his family is also very shocked by the news,” said MC Lalengliana’s friend.
“Without any psychological test I can’t tell whether he’s a pedophile or not, but from what I’ve heard his victims are all under aged girls, a clear indication of a pedophilia,” Dr. Lalhrekima, psychiatrist at Aizawl Civil Hospital said.
Last November the alleged lured one minor saying that he lost some papers and wanted her to help out, he took her to a nearby woods in eastern Aizawl and allegedly molested and raped her, later he took her to the nearby square where he gave her a taxi fare and send her home.
After that the Zemabawk locality Action Committee launched a man hunt in collaboration with the Bawngkawn Police since then.
“From Zemabawk locality alone he tried to persuade eleven minor girls and there are some unconfirmed reports in other parts of the City, his modus operandi runs the same all throughout, saying that he lost something and wanted the girls’ help,” a senior police officer from Bawngkawn Police Station said.
“He has a sexual disorder, that I’m sure, his targets were all lower age group girls, a clean sign of pedophilia, what he needs is a psycho analysis to find what abnormality he has, his statement will vary unless he undergoes a legal or forensic psychiatry test,” Ruby Zo Ralte, a psychologist at Regional Institute of Para-medical and Nursing Sciences.
