Had a really bad day at work and the unsurmountable friday weekly meeting which I dearly called Friday Firing, was the final blow. Well, my boss’ ass is already on fire and so is eventually mine , as the hierarchy goes, for whatever reason regarding the $1 million plus project I need to bring in this first quarter of the year (huiha heiha), wherein he matter-of-factly said that we are already in the ”3rd week of the first month” and ‘things dont seem to move as we plan for the year” rantings. ‘Well atleast I have been giving my best of efforts right from 2nd jan and its unfortunate that its not happening”, I piped up; but he continued his usual ravings and rantings….blah blah blah. This is the time i usually apply the ‘selective listening’ technique , Mr-always-right-for-his-opinion-too-self-centered-holier-than-thou-smart-ass continued till , like 4:45.

Well, to cut the long story short, the meeting finally ended (phew) promising (and do sincerely hoping)that next week will be better. It was at this moment I sincerely believed Daniel Powter’s Bad Day was my “SONG”

So now had to recollect my sanity and some ‘me-time’ that let me into a soul-searching moment after work over a java (and a pack of cigarette). Now I tried to cheer up myself by applying a sort of practical philosophy(whatever is called ) by ‘thinking happy thoughts ‘. Well, this time it worked miraculously, I quess, and my mind eventually drifted to the term ‘MONDEGREEN’.

(FYI : it was when she came back from a summer vacation brimming with joy from a trip home!!)

Chuan, pathat leh chu , MLTR ngei mai “I’m gonna be around” chang a , “I believe I found a miracle in you” tih a ‘a miracle’ lai hi asa sualtu nu bok I cuan , ‘AMERICA’ a ron ti ta. ‘Eng a?’ tih pah in ka nui let top top, and still hasn’t lost its charm yesterday!!

I have also heard few kids singing “Jeremy smoking” also, kan naupan lai a Madonna hla, Material Girl kha , I am a cheerio girl, lo ti ve nasa!!

My second personal fav is this song ‘dont it make my brown eyes blue’ by Crystal Gayle singing it as “Doughnuts make my brown eyes blue”, whether it’s the doughnut or the song , I like em both, equally.

Soi tur atam, nuih lah min ti nui hnem, tun thlengin, but i guess i’ll wind it up with a legendary Pink Floyd’s number ‘smoke on the water ”. This is the Mondegreen version: Slow walking Walter, the fire engine guy..hmmmmmm.
