World Bank clears higher Mizoram aid
Saturday, May 26th, 2007Guwahati, May 23: The World Bank has approved additional financing of $18 million to Mizoram for improving the management and carrying capacity of the state’s core road network.
The World Bank’s board of executive directors approved the additional financing in Washington yesterday.
In 2002, the original cost of the project was $70 million. The bank said the funds would bridge the gap, which is about $24 million, caused by a rise in the cost of labour and construction materials.
The project has to be completed by December this year.
