
‘Bawl” is a Mizo dish in which Saum (Fermented Pig’s Fat) and Cooking soda (actually Sodium Bicabonate is mostly used) are the main taste makers. Our ancestors used Chhingal (I think people in remote villages still do) instead of soda. Explaining Chhingal is itself a completely different story, so I wouldn’t do it here.
We will show you how to make “Nutrela bawl” .
1) Boil Nutrela and cut it into pieces.

2) Make the taste maker – Sauum, Soda, Chilli, Salt, Ajinomoto etc..




3) Add a little beer
This part is optional.

4) Stir the mixture

Nutrel Bawl is served! You can have it as side dish with food or with drinks. Thanks to Mimi (Not Renthlei).

Ajinomoto is company name, i think you should write MSG [Monosodium Glutmate] or seasoning powder or Hmehhanna!!!! hehehe…sap or European chuan MSG tih loh chuan a hre lo, hriatzau nan ka rawn ti ve mai2 a nia!!!!!!!!!
