Aizawl, Sept 12: The PHE CE office on Tuesday nabbed an elderly man for trying to pass off a forged supply order under the name of SE, (A) PHE to a non-Mizo supplier and handed him to the state police.
According to sources, Lalngura, aged 62, s/o Hrangzuala, a resident of Tuikual North, tried to sell a fake supply order No. W/18035/VI SE (CE), PHE 2004, Ground Water & Quality Control Division, PHE Zuangtui, Aizawl worth Rs. 122.38 lakhs to a non-Mizo supplier named Arun Jain in Chanmari under the name of Valbuanga, SE, PHE, Aizawl Circle.
The forger further took Rs. 2 lakhs from Arun Jain as donation to the MNF party fund. The forger gave Arun Jain a fake MNF receipt signed under the name of Lalmawia, Secretary (Finance), MNF General Headquarters.
Arun Jain then showed his supply order to Er. Valbuanga, SE, PHE (A) yesterday where Valbuanga quickly identified his signature as a fake. Valbuanga then called Lalngura to his office and was nabbed by PHE officials and handed to the police.
According to his confession to the police, Lalngura had spent almost all of his Rs. 2 lakhs which he taken from Arun Jain to pay his debts. He admitted to have paid Rs. 1 lakh to a certain Tawiliani and Rs. 90,000 to a non-Mizo as debt paymentss. He also swore that he had not made any fake supply orders in the past. He also told our source that he had held a high position in the MNF General Headquarters but has no high position as of now.
