Does Air India fly to Aizawl?

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Trouble broke out at Calcutta airport on Wednesday after a group of passengers of the Aizawl-bound Air India flight were told that they could not be accommodated on the flight. Fifty passengers had to return to Calcutta on Tuesday after an Air India flight failed to land in Aizawl because of bad weather, but they were assured that they would be accommodated on Wednesday’s flight. However, airline officials could only accommodate 40 of them and the rest were asked to wait till Thursday. .

Is the airline after the merger (Air India and Indian) known by one name?

The Man called Chhurbura

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

The most interesting and memorable personality in the world of Mizo folklore would undoubtedly be the great Chhurbura. The reading and study of Mizo tales would be incomplete and much less meaningful if the name of Chhura were left out in the whole milieu. He is, in fact, the unchallenged hero of the Mizo folk world

I believe this tale of Chhura in English is the work of Pu Tluangtea (Dr Laltluangliana Khiagte). I remember seeing the printed book.

DOWN THE MEMORY LANE by Captain M.A. Muthu (Retd.)

The major task was given to this Platoon near to the village DURTLANG HILL RIDGE, cutting of vertical passage like a Gateway. There were no road except for tribal track and short length passages. There were no technical men and I too must admit that I was not technically qualified in the real sense, except for my practical experiences in the Field Engineering in the Army and there was no plants equipments machineries as mentioned before. Our only tool was manual labor for demolition, reconstruction and completion of the project.
