How do you decide to buy a book?

Do you buy books:-

  1. That your friends recommend you?
  2. Based on a review you have read?
  3. By checking out the internet for the Hot 100 books?
  4. On a whim, when you visit your local book shop?

    * Read reviews on the net.
    * For tech books, check the content and see how may chapters are unfamiliar
    with me.
    * Cost? Is it worth the money?
    * Will I really read this book?
