Pu R. Vanlawma passes on

Pu R. Vanlawma, 92, social activist, writer, 1998 recipient of the Padma Shree for social work, and prolific contributor of articles to various Mizo papers and magazines, passed away at 5.30 pm yesterday at Civil Hospital where he had been admitted a month ago due to complications brought on by lung cancer. He will be laid to rest at the Upper Republic cemetery following a funeral at 12 noon today. He is survived by 4 sons, 3 daughters and several grandchildren.
