Last Saturday evening at around 5.30, a really ferocious storm lashed Aizawl. It lasted for maybe about just 10 minutes but it wreacked a lot of havoc, uprooting tin roofs and trees, flooding houses, causing the inevitable landslides, and plunging us all into darkness with the power lines going haywire. Among the various repair work that followed on Sunday and today, this is one familiar sight all over town….. loose wires strewn all around, men atop power poles…one got killed when he was electrocuted and fell off, fatally hitting his head…

Had heard abt the storm…pretty weird, and bad. Bet most of the wrecked houses were that of poor ppl. But the best thing abt being Mizos is that altho we have a lousy govt, there will be so many volunteers doing such a quick job of rehabilitating the victims
