Aizawl Mar 20: The CYMA’s supply reduction service (SRS) of Aizawl North has begun conducting vehicle searches again on National Highway 54 for proxyvon after this kind of practise abated last year following public outcry against harassment of public and private transport passengers.
According to reports, the Aizawl North SRS was on duty at the junction where the National Highway 54 continues towards Sairang and the state highway goes towards Durtlang near Kawnpui village on Sunday stopping and checking vehicles while taking down vehicle registration numbers with warnings that if “ruihhlo” (drugs and alcohol) are found in them, the consequences that befall them would not be the SRS’s responsibility.
Meanwhile, the SRS has issued a statement asking the pardon of drivers and passengers if their initiatives towards “ruihhlo” from entering the state capital cause them inconveniences.
