I could never understand why people still stick to Yahoo, Hotmail or Rediffmail. Yes, I am biased. Like when I fall for a girl, I completely forget the existence of the rest of the women species on the planet. Hehe! Before you pull my leg, I take back my words. But it’s partly true
With an unbeatable choice (GMail ) in mind, I read this comparison between GMail, Yahoo! Mail Beta and Windows Live Mail. As I read line after line, I kept saying to myself “Hmmm the new Yahoo! Mail which was dead slow now looks cool”, not quite willing to believe what I read.
Having read till the bottom, I went on to read comments to fully agree to the first comment.
The article is poorly researched and doesn’t take into account the key-board short cuts/grease monkey extensions to gmail
Yup! On GMail web interface, I simply hit “C” to compose a new mail, J and K to move to the next and previous mail. I am quite comfortable with J and K for next/previous navigation because the same keys are used on the VI editor in the Unixland. Besides, R to reply and F to forward. Being able to chat from the GMail web interface is also a feature I really like.
However, before I imagined all the bad words that I would use to curse Yahoo! Mail Beta, I decided to try it once again.
Because of the dead slow speed, I disabled the new Yahoo! Mail Beta interface long ago. I enabled it from here.
These are what you get with the new Yahoo! Mail interface
* Very Outlook-like interface
* Message preview in the lower pane
* Drag and drop mail to folders
* Tabbed interface
So I began my trial by sending email to myself. By mistake, I hit R. Voila! It’s shortcut key here too for “reply”. “F” works for “forward”. You could even simply hit “N” to compose a new message.
Hmmm! Surprisingly I am very impressed with YMB! I will however stick with GMail. My GMail space utilisation is 1018 MB (35%) right now. No way I would shift!
Something I really hate with Yahoo! Mail is having to click one more time to see my inbox after signin in.
I now agree other female beings exist and I have changed my mind but not the fact that she (GMail?) is the best
It’s never been a problem meeting another girl. So I set out to check Windows Live Mail Beta too.
I went to ideas.live.com, signed in with my hotmail ID and signed for Windows Live Mail Beta. She greeted me warmly as would to any other guy but asked me to come back in two weeks! That’s worst then being told “To go have tea” on approaching her at a certain get together. No thanks! I have no word for her.

@BW: Go try the Yahoo! Mail Beta. You would stick to GMail but would love YMB too. You never know a girl until you kiss her

I heard Yahoo! will be offering “Unlimited” email storage to all its existing users. And as we all know, “Unlimited” is relative

Yahoo mail beta kha chu nikum lam khan ka try daih tawh…but i find it a lil too crowded..ahh i just didnt like it so i switched back.. my gmail is presently sitting on a high 2884 MB .. its the best so far..i kept my yahoo and coz it was my first email and hotmail well purely because everyone over here uses it for schools and MSN..if i delete my hotmail then i’d prolly lose contact with more than 200 people on my messenger alone..but i can see that gmail will soon take over…go google[ only people u might not dominate is youtube–go buy there arse..u can afford them lolz ]
