Why Gmail rules?

Earlier I wrote this comparing GMail and the new Yahoo Mail Beta which is outlook alike.

To use the full features of both GMail and Yahoo Mail Beta, you need a decent internet connection, modern browser and decent PC.

The good thing with GMail is that when connection speed or computer is too slow, it switches all by itself to basic html view which is ok for slower connection.

Right now, we have power failure meaning I cannot use the DSL connection. I am online via Airtel GPRS/Edge which gives me upto 115 Kbps.

I tried login on to Yahoo Mail. Since I switched to Yahoo Mail beta earlier, that is what is loaded as I login.

It’s awfully slow. Takes very long time to load. Unlike GMail, it does load the classic/basic one. Moreover, no where I see a quick way to manually revert to the classic interface.I think I have to go to Options. GMail gives you the option to switch to basic HTML at the bottom of the page.

This is something Yahoo can learn from GMail.
