Here are two documents I found on the net.
1st one is the document where the Mizos declare in April 1947 that they have the option of seceding from India after 10 years.

The 2nd is the record of proceedings of the meeting on 14 Aug 1947,which again reiterates the same.
This would be a more legal document since it is signed by LL Peters, the British Superintendent of the Lushai Hills (as Mizoram was known then)

Retheih hlauh vang-a independence duh loh chu independence an phu lo. Sacrifices should be made.
Economy lam zawng a en chuan kan dinhmun a chhe zawk mah na. South Africa poh apartheid hnuai ah an economy a tha thin zawk a ni lom ni? We will have to learn how to stand on our own 2 little feet. Perhaps stumble in the beginning. But I think we will manage. We will be richer…. not necessarily in terms of economy.
