This morning I posted this story “Police Officer apologized to MZP” where I extracted some text from lawrkhawm.com. As always, I gave credit to the sources – lawrkhawm and Zonet website. Since it is not a personal website or blog, I did not give credit to the story contributor.
The contributor at lawrkhawm has accused us in this post of reproducing the content without permission.
Emails were exchanged on this issue. The message I get is that lawrkhawm does not like this although they do agree no terms have been violated.
I agree to minimize and avoid (as much as possible) linking, referencing, quoting and extracting content from the website.
My best wishes for lawrkhawm and if you have not been there, I suggest you do. The submission is like Digg where contents submitted are voted to the front page. However, currently it takes just two votes to get a story up front. As the commnunity grow, I hope this will be changed and increased.

Yeah..You should have given credit to the sources, to the contributor, to the PC or mac with which he wrote his article, to his internet provider for his internet connection and so on n on n on n on….muahahahah

credits to the website is quite enough…you did nothing wrong Mr. Ben. Once it is submitted, the story belongs to the website,…so i don’t think it’s necessary to give credits to the contributor….

As captaint^HER0 says, let us avoid maligning and avoid unfriendly languages. I am always glad to see more more website coming up from Mizoram. Nothing against any website. There is enough space for everyone. I am a regular visitor to the site and even subscribe the RSS feed.

From a neutral observer point of view, let me clear up a few points facts before some of you jump to your own conclusions. Ben will vouch for it that I already mailed both sides of the party not to make this incident public, but since it is already out in the open, let me clarify a few things as I think you all have the right to know.
Many of you were not even there when misual.com first came up. Headed by Ben and a couple of editors, we worked hard to make this site popular by writing our own Mizo-centric articles etc. Later, much much later, misual.com became very popular, and then some of the editors left misual.com. They had their own personal reasons which need not be mentioned here. Let’s just say the parting was not exactly amicable. And then there are the editors like me and Goldmember who patron both sites, ie, misual.com and lawrkhawm.com.
Hence lawrkhawm.com did not just come out of the blue. It is still in the initial phases and hence may not be as popular as misual.com. Even with misual.com, nobody knew of it’s existence those days. People who visited zoram.com and izawl.com used to laugh at us and make fun of us, just like the way most of you are laughing at lawrkhawm.com now. The point is, nobody knows what the future is going to be like.
Criticizing either websites, especially in public, is not good. We need more and more such websites coming up. And we need more and more Mizos to take active part in it. I take a great deal of pain going through all the Mizo blogs everyday and linking them from my blog. Because we often complain that vais etc don’t know about us and dont care etc. Well, this is one way of letting them know who we are.
Peace out, brothers and sisters. If Ben and lawrkhawm.com have some issues to settle, let them do it themselves. Let’s respect their integrity.

@ ammi: Since you love to take personal things to public with rather crude comments for everybody to read, do you mind reminding me, in private if you wish, what my “thil hre chianglova sawi duah” is all about????? And I just made a personal opinion on what i think is the best dress with a chart. Everybody’s free to make their own opinions. Yet when that post appeared here, my post was somehow misquoted into me declaring a radical guideline for church wear!!! Somehow you branded me as a fundamentalist “holier-than-thou” sanctimonious person (yes, I still remember your comment). Mahse ka rawn reply duh loh nachhan chu ka post i chhiar chiangloh vang a nia, ka ngawi ta mai a nih kha. Chumi inkarah nangmah zawkin thil hre chianglo hian tawng suh min la ti zawk a maw????
In the end, you probably know just one side of the story and maybe I know just one side. If that is the case, we are both in the wrong, but hey, is there really any need to be rude? We are only making this situation worse. Remember, if you throw dirt at someone, sooner or later somebody will throw dirt on you. Let’s all forget it and move on. The more the websites like misual.com and lawrkhawm.com, the better it is for the Mizo community. Think of the community as a whole, not the individual.
