Pi Chhingteii (Dengchhingpuii), who must have been the earliest Mizo to settle down in Bangalore passed away. There will be church funeral on 12th. She was 87.
Married to Captain M.A. Muthu in 1939 (approx). She is survived by her children as follows:
* Dr Prem (Tlanga, North Carolina)
* Kumar(tea), IFS
* Dr. Rajeshwari (Malaysia)
* Pu Zorama (Executive Officer, KVI Board)
* Pari (Rehab Therapist, US)
* Mohan (Bangalore)
* Dr Gokul (UK)
* Lakhsmi (Bangalore)
She is known to have been very helpful to many Mizos who came down Bangalore in the 60’s, 70’s even in the 80’s. She was one of the most beautiful Mizo ladies of her time.
