Aizawl, Sep. 19: The Mizoram State Legislative Assembly today adopted ‘The Mizoram Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2007 seeking to ensure that District Council Courts and Subordinate District Council Courts would continue to function under the Administration of Justice Rules, 1953, before the two-day session was adjourned sine die by Speaker Lalchamliana.
The amendment bill, introduced in the state assembly today by Law Minister H. Rammawi was taken up as the needs arose to clarify the functions of the District Council and Subordinate District Council courts under the Mizoram Civil Courts Act, 2005.
Three amendment bills were taken up an adopted by the state assembly during its two day session which began yesterday.
