Aizawl, Sept 23: The Central YMA Central Coordination Committee had their last meeting before the 62nd Central YMA General Conference set to commence from October 16 and passed a resolution to have ‘Beggar Free State’ as one of their agendas to discuss at the conference.
The Central Coordination Committee has put the Beggar Free State agenda as one of the two agendas to be taken up by the Central YMA. The Central YMA will also take up the task of ensuring that NREGS fund are not misused by the state government. The Committee is also making a proposal that the YMA General Conference be held once every two years as against the yearly conference.
The Committee also drafted two proposals to be taken up by the state government. One proposal is that the state government identifies a suitable place for farmers to sell their produce and the other is that the state government chalks out new plans for the protection and preservation of forests and animals.
The CCC Meeting also passed a resolution that the ‘Ruihhlo Do Kumpuan’ (War against drugs and intoxicants) be taken up for discussion again at the General Conference in West Phaileng.
The CCC passed a resolution to organize more awareness campaigns to their members not to stage protest marches and bandhs in the name of YMA but however rejected proposals made by certain members that office bearers of the YMA should not be employees of the state.
