New Delhi, Dec. 4: Two frontier states may soon get separate cadre for the civil services.
The Centre is favourably considering demands by Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh for separate state cadres.
Both states currently fall under the Union Territory cadre, which includes three states and seven Union territories.
What’s the advantage of a state having it’s own cadre? If Mizoram has it’s own cadre, does it mean Mizo’s inducted into civil service will come under Mizoram Cadre and will serve in Mizoram?

If the Govt can pull this through, then it will be a blessing for us, the competition is going easy from tough to hard ass so most of the time we cant crack it, so go on, reproduction time!!!

“does it mean Mizo’s inducted into civil service will come under Mizoram Cadre and will serve in Mizoram?” I think those guys selected in the service got a chance of picking which cadre they’d be inducted depending on their merit.
“What’s the advantage of a state having it’s own cadre” so that the politicians will be able to exploit them more!!!;-)

I don’t think it will be a blessing for us if this goes through.. ask yourself these questions:
1. What advantages a separate cadre holder like Nagaland has.. does development run faster.. no way.. this will actually means more vais at the top management who don’t even like to stay put in the state – more corruption .. no control.. cleaver vais will looth money out of Mizoram just as it happen in Manipur.. cleaver vais will ‘bum hlum’ our ignorant politician..
2. MCS people think they could make IAS easier if seperate cadre.. this is false (quota fall, strength fall, do Naga people make into IAS fast.. noways).
3. MCS people will lost all the DC / Director post to the IAS.. no MCS will make it to DC.. not to speak of MCS promotee holding DC post as in the present case (Kolasib, Lawngtlai etc).. MCS could hold all these post unlike other state who have plenty of IAS.. right now due no nonavailability of IAS they are previllaged..if we have seperate cadre MCS will be considered subsidiary – subordinate service.
4. I don’t know why MCS people wanted this.. myopic.. let this happened and MCS will be the first one to raise against.. i am sure of this!!! had discussed this with some government officials..

= Cheif Minister will know more IAS to help him get petty money from the Central Government

= No way.. cadre allotment is done by vacancy / choice and not by race.. domicile
