What are your plans for Christmas? Are you going home (to Aizawl/Mizoram) ? Anybody coming home from overseas?
Will you be with family or with friends at Christmas? Anybody who will be alone at Christmas? Anybody flying away for vacation?
What do you prefer – “Chhungkaw ruai (family dinner)” or “Khawtlang ruai (feast)”? How long do you think the tradition of “Khawtlang ruai” at Christmas will exist?
I guess the tradition of “tlang thing phurh”, “tui chawi”, “hnahlak” still happen at villages? Anybody been to any of these activities?
Have you served as “fatu” at Christmas/ New year feast?

Tlang ruai hi chu kum 50 vel chu kan la chin chhunzawm zel ka ring. Chumi hnulam erawh chuan a aia tha zawk emaw, tihtawp emaw a nih ka ring.
Village(thingtlang/zokhua(an tia maw ni) lamah chuan thingphurh, hnahlak chu a la awm teh meuh mai. A nawm danglam zia leh masi ti masi tu a nihna lai hre thiam tur chuan telve ngei phawt a ngai. La tel lo tan comment a rem kher lo maithei!(just as its not easy to truely grasp the true fun of pawnto for those who had never taken part in it).

Christmas hmang turin ka rawn haw bang bang dawn – thlarau lam tui hnang em em lo mahse, ruai te threh a, zan ah thian te nen thingpui hang leh kurtai ei te, chhangban kan leh chhum te pawh, ruai han theh ila Chaltlang field ah ngei….
Tun trum em em chu enge ka hriat pawh ka hre lo, ka Christmas nghahhleh dan em em hi. For me it’s all about people. Awmna hmun atrang a ka haw nachhan tur chu ka hre treuh mai – chhungte, thenawmte, thriante leh khawtlang, ka ngai vel vek!

Keipoh ka haw dawn… ni 19 ah Aizawl ka thleng ang. Nuam don bon thengs. This will be my first Christmas with family in the last 5 years…. so most of the time I’ll be with my family….I guess.
Thingtlanga Masi hman hi a lo nuam ta berin ka hria, a masi bik hliah hliah…. Masi thing lak leh hnah lak, inkhawm, zaikhawm, khawlaia tei vel mai mai, etc.
Fatu maw….. Aizawlah chuan kan khohran angah chuan ruat hran em em pawh awm lovin thalai ho hian fatute hi kan pui mai thin a, fatu kan ni ve tho ang chu. B’lore ah hi chuan vawi 3 vel chu ka lo fatu ve toh.

– Chhungkaw ruai in the morning (zing chaw eikhom) and khawtlang ruai in the evening/ afternoon

– It is still practice in my place like Thingphurh & hnah lak. But only few girls will accompany the guys (thingpui sem/ siam sak tur in)
