Aizawl, Dec 18 : A rice-laden truck, heading for Lawngtlai in Mizoram, was looted on its way in between Leite and Maudarh hamlets under Hnahthial police station, police said here today.

Only one truckload of rice ? How long do they think that will last ? If the price of rice were Rs. 20 per kilo, a five tonne truck could carry 5000 kgs at most, that will cost Rs. 100,000 or $ 2500 Presuming it soct Rs. 10,000 to hire the lorry, the whole relief package (Rs 110,000) will be nothing copmpared to the amount of tital funds granted by central government which seems to vanish mysteriously. It will cost even less than a nice farmhouse owned by some minister I saw once on this site.
