1. A newspaper delivery man rescued an elderly woman who was trapped under her dead husband for four days. Bruce Pitts, of Illinois, became worried when his papers started to pile up outside the house. He opened an unlocked door and saw the couple inside, 84-yrs-old Blanche Roberts pinned under Fred, who had died of a heart attack. She is now recovering.
(I was just wondering, how can it be possible to be trapped under someone for four days without food or water?)
2. A man who wrapped his head in duct tape to conceal his identity has pleaded guilty to robbing a Kentucky bottle shop. Police said Kasey Kazee entered the Ashland shop with his head, except for eye and mouth openings, wrapped in the tape. He fled with cash but was tackled by another employee in the car park. No weapon was found on Kazee, whose “haul” amounted to about $15. He faces 10 years in prison.
( Very unlucky…Felt sorry for this man)
3. A Florida man whose arms were caught in a press machine managed to dial 911 – with his big toe. He shook his mobile phone off his belt, kicked off a shoe and used his toe to punch numbers. Rescuers used a thick metal bar to pry the machinery off his arms.

4. The head of Germany’s Social Democrats, who has ambitions to be his country’s next leader, is thinking about donating his beard to charity. Kurt Beck said he might shave off his beard to raise $1.6 million for good causes, “It must be serious and not turn into spectacle,” he said. “The event would have to help the really needy. I’m still thinking about it.” He trails Chancellor Angela Merkel by 59-plus points in personal opinion poll ratings.
