There is a popular perception that skeptics are all just cynics who are unable to tolerate the existence of mysteries while believers — whether in gods or in the paranormal — are more open minded and willing to embraces the mysteries of life. Atheists are often accused of being unable to say “I don’t know” and appreciate mystery in their lives. This is not only false, but it’s exactly the opposite of the truth: it’s the believers who reject mystery while atheists and skeptics accept it.
If you look closely, it’s the True Believers who insist that there is a clear answer for everything that occurs while skeptics are the ones more willing to say “We don’t know.” If the subject is theism, you’ll find religious believers insisting that they know their god is responsible for events. If the subject is some other phenomenon that is difficult to explain, you’ll find believers in the paranormal insisting that they know it’s caused by psychic powers, UFOs, etc.
Skepticism, in contrast, necessarily embraces “mystery,” if we define it as unanswered questions. Skeptics might propose a naturalistic explanation after studying the phenomenon in question, but initially at least they don’t claim to know anything about what’s going on.
True Believers in the paranormal are convinced that everything is connected and that there is some single, grand Answer or Source which lies behind everything — there are no coincidences and there are no mysteries because there is an answer to everything that happens and every question we have. As they are fond of saying: Everything happens for a reason.
Skeptics, on the other hand, recognize that while there is technically some cause behind whatever we see, that doesn’t mean we can readily or easily identify the cause or causes. Coincidences do happen and the law or large numbers requires that unlikely events will happen on a regular basis. There aren’t easy answers to all our questions and we can’t always say precisely why certain things happen.
This mirrors precisely the relationship between irreligious atheists and religious theism. True Believers, whatever their religion, are typically convinced that everything in the universe — every event and every object — is intimately connected by a single cosmic source they call “God.” There are no coincidences, accidents, or mysteries because God is in control of everything, directing the universe towards a predetermined conclusion.
Atheists, on the other hand, recognize that while there are causes to events in the universe, this does not mean we necessarily identify what the cause is. We certainly can’t simply claim “God did it” when we can’t immediately cite some natural or material cause. Coincidences and accidents do happen — it’s not the will of God that one person survives a crash and another doesn’t, or that a friend calls you just after you were thinking about them.
Skepticism and skeptical atheism mean accepting the fact that we don’t always know the answer to every question. They mean that when a natural, material answer is not immediately at hand we can’t just start claiming that events are due to gods, karma, enneagrams, engery fields, chi, past lives, or other nonsense. When people can’t accept this, they end up creating systems of “answers” and “explanations” out of nothing and pretend that they do have answers. What they really have is just their own imaginations running out of control.

A True Christian knew that this is just one kind of theory propounded by one mortal soul created by God. We knew that the author too will die one day and one day he will meet his creator. But, we the believers knew that our knowledge is limited and there are many mysterious things which we cannot correctly immagined and we will surely knew in the future. Through this article writen by Austin I am not trying to compete to any beliefs here.. I am just trying to depict that there can be another kind of belief, which somehow can be understood by the person who belief but may not be able to explain the entire system. It is somewhat similar to the beliefs of other religions. Atheism in itself doesn’t mean they are “non-believers”, they belief in something, a logic which states that God might not exist which doesn’t mean that “Athiest” doesn’t belief in somethin.. Its their belif that makes them know that God is not there. They are also “believer” jusyt the way every person in this world who happend to be governed by the laws and scriptures of their religion call themselves “believer”

I’m sure as hell not an Athiest (no pun intended), but it;s my opinion that sometimes religion does stand in the way of one’s spirituality! :))
