Going where Kohli went

Mizoram Governor Lt Gen Lakhera on a virgin tour visited Champhai, proceeded all the way to Zokhawthar. I wonder if he would try that delicacy “Khawchhak Sawhchiar” (how do you call that?) or what he would buy (if he does :-) from the bordering town. I really recommend His Excellency try that dish since it feels special up there. I suppose he would make a trip to Rihdil too.

The Governor emphasised on the need to go out and learn from others.

“Mizos have enormous potential. But, since no society can progress if it is inbred, people should go out and learn about other societies. It is only through this that Mizoram will see real social development,”

Lakhera said.

Governor on drugs misuse and the PURPOSE of life:

Youths are susceptible to misuse of drugs. But if one keeps in mind what God has put us here for one can avoid this and other social evils,”

This is important, finding the purpose of life. I haven’t heard from any Mizo preacher about the reason of our existence. To me, understanding the purpose of our existence is as important as knowing “He loves us” , “He died for you”, “We are forgiven” if not more.

He also said that the government has enough money and it should be put to use properly.

    Wise words. :)

Just one problem… Christianity teaches us to go spread the word… not to listen to what other people have to say :D

Not that I’m anti-Christianity, just that I loathe blind faith. To cite an example, I once came across this 17 year old English Lad tagging along with his missionary dad at a petrol pump on the outskirts of Kolkata, who came up to a Muslim friend and me out on a drive, and asked us if we had heard about Christ and his message of love. I sat down and drilled him for five minutes while his dad refilled their car and actually got him to start questioning his own religious beliefs.

Please don’t discuss theology with me. I am not that stupid. Call me stupid for not wanting to be that stupid if you want and be happy with yourself. I am spiritual, and God serving, but I’d rather not be religious. Its a personal choice.

    I love Lakhera’s parting remark.

You speak my heart. Religion is only based on paper. Being spiritual is something else.
