Saw on TV late last night (early this morning rather) that legendary jazz guitarist Frank Gambale and equally impressive Virgil Donati would be in India in December. I’m not very familiar with the rest of the band but they seem to know a thing or two about making music.
Gambale played with Chich Corea for some 6 years, i believe, and has recorded with one of my favourite bassist Sru Hamm (the guy who did the crazy bass solo on the Joe Satriani concert in San Francisco).
The TV said they would be in Bangalore but the official website lists only Mumbai, Goa, Pune and Hyderabad. https://www.frankgambale.com/tour.html
Still remember seeing the Gambale signature model guitar in an Ibanez guitar catalogue some 10 years back. Althought it was a humble looking semi-hollow electric guitar, it was the most expensive guitar in the catalogue, beating Steve Vai’s famous 7-stringed JEM series, Satriani’s shiny chrome guitars and those of Paul Gilbert, Reb Beach etc etc.

frank gambale chu a hming chu ka se ve tawh.. but im not a big jazz fan.. or rather i have not the chance to listen to jazz on a regular basis
