Apart from what has been said, from whatever I could find my opinion is that, had Ambedkar not been around, the tension betewwn radical hindus and radical muslims (both of whom sought to build a new India on theological principles) would have escalated to… who knows? He fought both groups and somhow cooled down the situation to where it is (was).

Ni ve tho mai. Ambedkar wanted freedom for everyone… be it from the British, caste etc.
Gandhi and the Congress wanted freedom from the British… but they also wanted the transfer of power from the British to Congress. had it been that power was to be transferred to a king (or somthin like that), there’s the possibility that some ppl would not be as enthusiastic as they were about the freedom movement.
