It’s been well over a decade now since my first kiss. A lot had happened after that. Such as misual.com, moving to Bangalore, gaining weight and of course a lot more kisses The best thing being not having to wake up alone in the morning since I had finally taken the plunge to get myself married. There’s me, my lovely wife June and our three daughters Ally, Arcy and Jenny.
Gone are the days when I had to wake up alone and make myself tea, breakfast. I used to hate myself so much in the morning that I would often sleep till noon.
These days as I open my eyes each morning, I would find a pretty woman lying beside me. If not I would find her cooking Chhanga breakfast in the kitchen. She’s an early morning person unlike me and as she wakes up, would often whisper to my ears “Ben, lemme go make you a delicious Chhanga breakfast. I know you are tired. You sleep longer Mmmmmmmuah! Love you”.
Life has changed a lot. I no longer need to rely on alarm clock to wake up on time in the morning. I have June wake me up with a kiss or the kids climbing on top of me.
When breakfast is ready, we all meet in the dining room and if our girls aren’t there June would call out “Girls, breakfast is served”. Then we would have three girls chanting (as if they were waiting for the call) “Coming Mama Coming Mama”.
Oh oh! June’s coming over and the looks on her face’s clearly telling me “What are you doing Ben? What are all the smiles for? Tell me what you are up to?” She isn’t aware of two things. One, that I am writing “Our Story”. Two, my dream of becoming the best hubby and the best dad had come true I may mean less to the world but to June and the girls, I am EVERYTHING.

Hey Uncle Ben!
We hav’nt met and you don’t know me…but…I heard alot bout you from your daughter Jenny. Well…we are the best of frends, even call ourselves ‘blood sisters’ (…sshhhh don’t tell her I told you that coz she said you hate the word ‘blood’). You’ve got a fine daughter…Jenny…and I guess you might be too! So…like father like daughter???
