Report above is per BMA directory. For the current session 2006-2007, there are 880 registered members. It is expected that there would be some 1000 Mizos in Bangalore.
Mizo Service attendance on any given Sunday is roughly 200 which is 20% (consider there are 1000 Mizos). This is enough to fill the Church and if you arrive late, you end up sitting outside.
This number could rise as much as 213 when Goldmember comes to Church since he brings with him his disciples of a dozen girls
Looks like we need more men like Goldmember.
In Chennai, there are 330 members in the welfare directory. Mizo service attendance varies between 70-100 out of the 300+ Mizos in town. That means you could roughly estimate that 1/3th of Mizos living in Chennai show up for Mizo Service on Sunday whereas 1/5th does in Bangalore.
Thats something Pu Lawmsanga would be glad to hear. He’s been asking all Mizo Chennaites to come Church and other welfare activities atleast once in a while
Do keep in mind this is a *rough estimate*. However, it shouldn’t be far off from the real picture.
