I read this news “Mizoram hosts its first Super Model Contest” at dailyindia.com refering to recent super model contest.

To begin with, the title is wrong. We all know there was one before. It was Ramsangi who got the title.
(I could be the one wrong here. What happened earlier in Aizawl was NE Super Model Contest)

“This is the first time in Mizoram that a super model contest was organized. I was happy, and I thought I would win,” said Elizabeth, one of the contestants.

My dear Eli, if what is quoted here is what you said, I am surprise to hear this from you, one of the contestants.

It was a welcome change for the youngsters to see a beauty contest in their own State, rather than traveling miles, to Delhi and Mumbai, to see such events.

Dear D. Henpelin, I doubt any youngster from Mizoram travel outside for such events.

Here is one of the organizers Ruth L Hrangchal (aka Chal Ruth among friends) speaking

“We have a lot of pretty girls. We have great potential. So, we want to open up an opportunity for them so that they can earn money as cover girls (for magazines). There are lots of fashion shows that we have done before. We have been doing this for over ten years now and among these contestants we have a lot of models,”

    Ben, this is the first Super Model Contest organized by Mizoram.

    As far as i know, the contest in which Ramsangi won the title was NE Super Model, held in Mizoram.

    Oops. I could be wrong. I am surprise throughout the contest, (I remember)no news report from Aizawl seem to mention it being the first.

    Too bad its on indexed by Google. The first link I got with keywork Ramsang is this very post.
