Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Mizoram top Centre’s list for establishing centres of excellence.
The eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and seven new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), which Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has announced, are likely to come up in the states of Orissa, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland.

Wow !! Hard to believe it ! I really really hope this thing gets through…just imagine..an IIT/ IIM in Mizoram !! Aw..Pu Zoram, do u know ’bout this ? U definitely should wanna get ur Gov into action right away.

Given a choice, i think it’s imperative we choose IIT, IIT and IIM of course would be too good. I think we have a higher chance of having an IIT as Arunachal, Assam and others already have engineering college. Hope these institutes would provide job oriented education for the youth.

I’d say IIT is more suitable because IIM is mainly a post graduate school isnt it? I do not think there will be many suitable candidates from Mizoram for IIM and it will only damage the brand reputation. On the other hand, IIT also offers undergraduate studies and I think that many mizo students can go straight from High school to IIT (subject to qualification).
On the darker side, I do not think this will happen within the next decade given the indifference and disinterest of central government in insignificant and useless state like Mizoram. J&K and Rajasthan got far more weight in my opinion.

@Nirvana, don’t feel bad when the stock is falling, ENJOY..!!! but don’t sell anything , insteand go shopping, buy more shares, 25% then more fall another 25 %.. it will rise one day, india fundamental is strong.
