Building Regulation for Aizawl

I am glad to see that there is something such as “Building Regulation Draft” coming up in Aizawl. According to Khampat.com, Aizawl Developing Authority is working on “Building Regulations” and is seeking public opinion on the draft.

A college classmate showed me their plot where they would soon construct a house, once the plan is approved by the corporation. That was news to me. Such system did not exist in Mizoram where one simply builds a house as he likes.

At my former organization in Chennai, folks at one of the blocks asked for a shed to cover their bikes. The parking lot was well inside the office premises. It turned out permission is required to construct even a shed. I learned, just because it is your building and your land, extending without approval is illegal.

I have do problem, but just want to remind than that they are Goverment of Mizoram, not government of Aizawl. They seem to forget that many times.
